WOOOW,

the trackwheel on my 8700g has gone bad (noclicking) it works it is just very very sensitive to the point it is almost useless.

So I have returned to my beloved 7230:( After becoming adjusted to the 8700 the 7230 feels very awkward. worse NO EDGE!!!

May have to fork over the 90 bucks to BB repair to fix. of course can find NIB on ebay for 200 or so. what to do? what to do?

I even called BB repair to see if I could buy just the jogwheel and repair myself. Thet were prompt in calling back but Im at work and couldn't take call. hurry up % pm so i can call them!

I don't recall ever seeing anything on replacing the trackwheel. It would be handy information as it's not an uncommon issue. I wonder what causes it though... I mean, my old 8700c was purchased the day of the 8700c's launch on Cingular and it sees heavy email use every day yet its trackwheel is still working well...

ya I get heavy use outta mine as well. There wasn't even any kind of warning it just stopped clicking (popping in and out) I would love to know if there is any particular reason only thing I can think of is Mechanical wear and tear.

Contacted BBrepair to see if I can just get the trackwheel and replace it myself so I can do a DIY for the forums.

They contacted me promptly to see if I have access to the needed equipment, unfortunately I wa at work and not able to take their call.
