Default different alert for voicemail?

Please Login to Remove!

Wife needs different alert for her voicemail and for email. For email, she just wants it to vibrate. If she gets a voicemail, she wants an audible notification.

Is there a way to do this? A filter of some sort maybe? I poked around but couldn't find an easy way to do it.

Thanks!

Not sure you can single out a message that is sent for voice mail in the email section. Mine is sent as an email message and I have never found a way to select it from other emails. If you get a call and it's only from a single number you may be able to set it to a special ring tone.

Right...I don't think that's what the problem is. If I'm reading the posters question correctly they want a different notification for voicemal and email messages. This can be done through their profiles.

Is it actually an email or an SMS? Most voicemail systems that I've used that don't properly support the message waiting indicator rely on SMS for notification. If that's the case, setting a different alert for SMS in Profiles would work.

It looks like even though my carrier does support MWI that the voicemail alert is the same as the SMS alert.

well the way it's set up now, the voicemail does not appear in the "messages" section, although whatever alert i set up for email, also applies to voicemail.

I know the "level 1 messages" is usually for SMS and PIN messages. I'm gonna experiment some more tonight and see if i can figure it out.

Please re-read what I've posted...sms=voicemail and messages=email. So set a different tone for your sms and messages.
