Sorry to start another BB Weather/Berry 411 thread but I seem to be the only person having issues with these applications so I thought I would throw it out to the group to see if anyone had any suggestions.

Here is the situation with BB Weather:

I load BB Weather (have tried doing an OTA install as well as downloading to desktop and installing through Desktop Manager). I get the error that no locations are stored. So I click the pearl and then choose "Add". I proceed to add a location (zipcode) and then type in the city information underneath it.

I then hit the menu button and choose 'save'.

I run the application and I get the "no locations stored" error, even though I just input the location ID and hit save.

I had this app running on my Pearl and my 8700 and find it to be very valuable which is why I keep banging my head against the wall on this one.

I have also tried checking MDS proxy off and on to no avail.

I am on a BES and never had any issue with BB Weather 0.74 before.



With regard to berry411, I have never used this application before but everyone raves about it. Have downloaded the app OTA but when I try to run it I get an "uncaught exception: java.lang.error" message.

I have uninstalled and re-installed all of the languages and input methods back/forth and still get the same error as that error message seems to imply some language pack is missing based upon my search of the error message.

Any help on either of these would be appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

I am not going to be able to give you much help. I have tried BBWeather on my 8700, before Pearl, and it worked great. However, I have done both OTA and hard install on my 8800 and have major problems. When I select BBWeather to open, it tells me that I have no locations then it immediately locks up my device. I have to remove the battery to get things back on track. After a variety of attempts, I finally gave up and am using Weatherbug. Very pleased with it. I know, everyone else seems to have no problems, like you said, with BBWeather. I don't know.
I also use berry411 and love it. No problems at all. I never used it before the 8800. I missed out on a great piece of software. Your error messages are puzzling. I will be interested to see what some of the experts on here say may be the problem.
