Hi guys,

I set a 4 digit numerical password on my 8700V to be entered whenever keypad was unlocked. I removed my SIM and sold the device forgetting about the password. I have just heard from the guy who bought it who claims that it is asking him for the password. I have given him the password I set but he says that it will not work. The device is unlocked and so will work with any SIM and so this is not the issue. Do I need to put my old SIM back in the device to remove the password? Is there a generic password for the device such as 0000 etc? What else could the problem be?

Many thanks!

He should be able to enter the wrong password 10 times, then the device will reset to factory settings.

oh right. didn't know that!
I think I've found the problem - I told him it was a 4 digit NUMBER - which I even thought it was myself - but i never used to use the number/shift button so in actual truth it is a 4 LETTER password! Have explained to him so hopefully this should fix things. thanks for your reply.
