Default The bells, The bells

I have no idea why it does this,
but seemingly If I cold-start the device by pulling the battery out,

on restart, and opening browser initially
first off 'times out' and then a cacophony of bells kick off
untill i hit the red button, after which,

I can open browser in the usual way.

Now I've been through the sounds file selecting various tunes for different levels of alert,
but never heard this one

this has happened perhaps Three time.

any thoughts boffins ?
