Hi all. Just bought a new 8703e and am curious if anyone knows of a way to allow it to connect to my wifi network?

Thanks.

The only BlackBerry that has WiFi is the 8800 (in future releases, not Cingular). The older 7270 could also connect to WLAN.

I guess with some duct take you can connect it to a WiFi access point but I doubt that's what you're looking for. Since none of the 87XX's have a WiFi radio and no expansion slot there's no way.

Duct tape is not permanent...

Try using liquid nails. Just a small squeeze should do it. LOL

Not sure if such a device exists, plus I highly doubt if there is any application for BB to allow you to take advantage of it.

What are you trying to to? Just surf using Wifi as opposed to using a dataplan?

I am not sure what you will gain from using WiFi. Email has to come via BES or BES. Surfing the web maybe. But it is going to be slow. The BB processor isn't the fastest thing on the block.

Wifi enabled BB has one prime use....VoIP in a corporate office.

Avaya and the BB 7270 already do this.....

Dual mode phones are all the rage in Europe (Nokia e61 for example), the US carriers haven't figured out a way to "make money" on it so that is why we don't see the devices yet.

They are coming though.
