Ok, no wiseguy remarks please! One of our users "drowned" his T-Mobile 8700g by dropping it in a sink full of water. Cant send it in for repairs cause the water indicator inside the battery compartment is completely red. Beleive it or not, the device still works, except that it is stuck on vibrating. As soon as I put the battery in, it starts and will not stop until the battery is removed. I have activated the device on the BES and it still works and will make phone calls as well. Is there a way to disable the part that vibrates in this device? I am not afarid of performing surgery on the unit, so if you know the procedure, I would be grateful if you could send it along.

MAy wanna contact RIM and see if they can give you the info to disable Vibrate. If you know which mechanism on the Board is the source of vibrate you could try terminating one of the connection to it but you dont know how it may affect the BB over all. MY ADVICE call RIM!!

and do make sure his BB is COMPLETELY dry inside... search this site using the word "wet" and you'll find a couple of very good threads showing how to dry a dunked BlackBerry.

I know, I dunked mine before completely submerged and it works still.
