Default Strange BB issue

Please Login to Remove!

Not sure if anyone here ever encountered these problems before.

I use a hosted BES server. I have my BB set to turn on automatically at 8am. When I go into messages, it shows all the emails that I received while the device was off, but they all have the arrival time of 8am. But when I go into each individual email, in the heading, it shows the real time, i.e. 4:43am, 5:42am...etc. any idea why that is? If I receive emails after the device has been turned on, it shows the real arrival time.

If I add new contacts in outlook on my laptop, they don't show up on my BB. It seems the address book isn't syncing. But when I add a new contact on the BB, it shows up in my laptop, it seems that its only syncing one way, from the BB to exchange.

In my email reconciliation setting, I have the following settings:
delete on: mailbox & handheld
wireless reconcile: on
on conflicts: mail box wins

Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks for your help.

The time/date on the messages page is simply the time/date it loaded to the BB (received time.) That's just the way it is and no way to change that. You've already found the fix. Look in the header for the sent time. It's the same on any computer/email.

I guess its something I have to get used to coming from the Treo 750 because on that, it shows the true time it was sent instead. It gets a little confusing when I try to just look at all the emails I got in one particular day due to the BB groups them by the date.

Regarding the address book issue, still haven't found a solution to that as of yet.

The blackberry is an always-on device. I don't really know what that means, but it seems like they made it to be ALWAYS ON. So, I keep mine ALWAYS ON, and everything looks good.

With the address book thing...Check with your hosted BES to make sure they don't have the settings under "PIM data" anything other than default. (It's on the BES) There's an option in there that only allows sync one way. And you can specifiy which ones. IE.. memo's / calendar / tasks /etc.. There might be something like that in the Desktop manager as well.

Yeah, from now on, I'm just going to leave the device on 24/7. That shouldn't have any impact on the life of the device right? As far as the address book syncing, it appears to be syncing now. I checked with the hosted BES company, nothing seems to be abnormal on their end, maybe it has something with Cingular's end. I'm able to send and receive messages now.
