Default Does it make sense to by 8703e Verizon now?

Hi..i am thinking of getting a smartphone...like BBs for their stability...I have an 8700g on T mobile for work email (not voice) and like it alot...thinking of getting 8703e on Verizon to replace my LG 8300 so i can have phone/datebook/contacts/personal email/web, etc all in one...BUT...is it not smart to get 8703e now with possible 8800 type of BB coming to Verizon soon (a few months at least... I know)...I would be paying full retail as I am not near my contract end but not too concerned about that except if I have buyer's remorse if better phone comes out soon...

Oh and does anyone who has 8703e miss voice dial in car?...is ability to hold one letter to speed dial almost as good with a bluetooth headset? Thanks

I spent the last three weeks wondering a very similar thing. I was shopping for my first BB. Should I get an 8800 from Cingular, an 8703e from Verizon, or just wait until Verizon has some 8800-like thing? Ultimately, I chose the 8703e from Verizon. The feedback I had read from folks seemed to indicate folks almost uniformly loved their 8700-series BBs and feedback on the 8800 was mostly positive, but mixed, nevertheless. The 8800 sure LOOKED cool, but I have an ipod video and I was replacing a cellphone with a microSD card that played MP3s (and almost NEVER used it to actually play MP3s), so the multimedia features were not a big deal. EV-DO on Verizon was a big plus and made up for a lot. Since getting the 8703e, I've been pleased as punch and am not looking back. If an 8800-series comes to Verizon next month, I can't say I'd care; I'm having too much fun with the freedom the new 8703e is giving me.

i too have the 8703e from Verizon and love it! can't say I'd go with the 8800 however, i still have yet to see how the new one will work. let alone the bb 8703e being in the verizon network makes it even better for me

I was thinking about the samething, but I have had verizon from the start and I needed a smartphone for my line of work and know that verizon is always the last to get the phones and you never know with them.

Ened up buying the 8703e and love it, the only complaint I have is I wish I could send and receive picture mail besides through email.

Cheers,
