Default Backlight control

I don't want to set my backlight to 100%. But when I'm looking at the phone in the daytime, occasionally the light is not on full, and I want it to be. On my 8700, I could press the power button, and that would first set the light to 100% brightness, and then the next press would turn the backlight off. On the 8800, the first press seems to turn the backlight off, and the second press turns it on at 100%. Anyone else noticing this switch?

Default

My 8800 works just the same as the 8700 ... 1 click = ultrabright ... 2 clicks = backlight off. No switch here.

Default I have same problem

I was outside yesterday with my new 8800. I look down at it and can hardly read it. I hit power button and it turns off then again...it turns to medium power and again to get to full power so I can read it. What a pain.

It seems that today when I do this (inside), the first press of the power button goes to full power. So I don't know what was wrong but it was doing it all day and it is a pain.
