I think the 8700g is a T-mobile device, so it should work with just changing the SIM and adding a BB dataplan.

But to get email, the seller should close out their BIS account and release the IMEI and PIN so you can set up your BIS account. If it was on BES, then you will need to remove all of the IT policies and wipe the device to restore it to factory settings.

If it is not a T-Mo branded phone, it would have to be unlocked first- as long as it is a GSM phone.

There are a lot of issues with buying a used BB from ebay or from anywhere else. IMHO, you should get your first one from the corp store so you will know what you are doing with a used one.

Good advice Dubdub....

You can also check the for sale area of this site and find a used T-Mo 8700 that's for sale!

How hard is it to restore it back to its factory settings? The reason I wanta used one is I dont want to pay the price of a new one. Im waiting on the 8800 to come out for tmob. The 8700g is the tmobile version though.
