Default 7290 keeps turning off by itself

Please Login to Remove!

I am running BES 4.0.4.13, the handheld is a Cingular 7290(version 4.1.0.292). I have activated these kinds of models a hundred times. Also we are running Novell GroupWise 6.5.4.

I have a couple of users(two), who's blackberries have been shutting themselves off( its almost like the screen goes blank), and once they turn off you cant turn them back on by hitting any buttons, you have to pull the battery out. These are brand new 7290's from cingular.

Anyone else having these problems? No one else on our BES is having this problem.

Any ideas of what to do?

new update! i am sitting in my office here at work staring at the wall. and i look over at one of the said devices. And the home screen was all dim, like it was loosing connections inside the device. it looked like little lines were going across the screen, i think i remember reading about this so i am going to search for it.

i am thinking there is no troubleshooting here..i should just have cingular replace the berries

My sister's t-mobile 7290 started doing this randomly last summer. Of course, that was after the one year warranty was up. It doesn't do it often enough to warrant buyng a new one yet, but its irritating when our conversation gets cut of because her bb died.

I suspect a hardware failure because I have tried wiping and reloading the OS. I'd return them if I were you.

Yeah, thats the plan. I just killed their blackberries and am enterprise activating them as we speak. They were brand new in the box from cingular. I guess i will be sending them back asap.

thanks for your help
