I just upgraded from an 8700 to an 8800. The 8800 has BBv4.2172. I don't have the 8700 (lost it), but I think it was the same version.

I've set up the 8800 like I had the 8700 set up, I think. I've noticed one difference that I can not get set as I want it.

On the 8700, my redirected email from Outlook all appeared in my BB inbox. When I read a message it would stay there unless I chose to file it. If I chose file, the BB knew the redirected folder already. I came to like this set up, as it let me scan my mail and then file messages when I liked.

With the 8800, redirected messages show in the BB inbox, but as soon as I read them and they change from unread to read, they disappear from the inbox and can be found in the proper redirected folder. I prefer that they not go to the redirected folder but stay in the BB inbox until I "release" them to their proper redirected folder. (I hope this is clear.)

I can not find what settings may be different in the 8800 that has resulted in the new behavior. Can anyone help??

I'm not sure why this is either but it's a bit annoying. You can use View Folder to view those messages but it was nice on the 8700 to not have to do this. Again, I can't file into Deleted Items on my 8800 but could on the 8700. Filing into other folders is no problem. I'm not sure why this is the case either...

anyone have an idea?

Have you guys noticed that your messages are coming in as folders (i.e., the icon is a folder icon, not a message icon)?

do you have any Outlook Rules for messages?

there is a setting under "options" (in the inbox) under general email settings where you can choose to hide or show file messages
