Question BB 8703 phone book will not sync with Mercedes

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BB 8703 (Verizon). It works great with my Mercedes Bluetooth MHI, with one problem - the phone book from my BB will not download to my car. I tried changing the setting to Hotlist transfer - it does not download. Any suggestions?

I believe the address book only works with BMW and Audi.
I had the same issue with my Saab.

Could you take your sim card out of the 8700 and put it in a bluetooth enabled phone and then sync it up with the car that way. If so, then your vehicle would have the info stored and you could then switch back to the 8700. If someone tries this, let me know as I am getting a new car with this feature next month.

Good idea, but Verizon doesn't have SIM cards, making this more difficult for the original poster.

I don't think it's possible - been trying to get it working w/ my 06 S55 for months, and no luck. I can get the phonebook down w/o any trouble on my wife's 06 S4, so the person who said it only works w/ BMW's and Audi's is probably on the right track

Hey man I have a 2007 Mercedes-Benz ML65 AMG and it works fine with mine. I also have a Blackberry 8703e...

Send me a PM and I'll try to walk you through it - its pretty painless. I can also give you a tip that you need to make 2-3 phone calls before your phonebook list downloads fully and you shouldnt have it on hotlist.

Let me know bro and I'll try to hook you up.

I thought Verizon locked / prevented their BB from downloading the addressbook. I cannot for the life of me get my BB 8703e (verizon) to download to my '05 X3. It says downloading but never does. Anyone else having luck getting their verizon BB to sync with their BMW or other vehicle?

From what I've seen it only seems possible on newer (8100 and 8800) Blackberries.

I'm hoping you are wrong - but I doubt it

What's the deal, proathlete?

How did you get it working??

Still nothing from Proathlete on this?

I'm hoping this is legit and he's got it working, because his claim that he got it going got me all excited.

Or perhaps he fat-fingered the spelling of 07 Kia Sephia when he typed '2007 Mercedes-Benz ML65 AMG'

:D

A little off topic but, there is no such thing as a 2007 ML65. The model is actually called ML63.

I should have know better than to hope takeshi was wrong!

I guess I can (kinda) understand someone claiming they have a car that they dont, as immature as that is... But claiming to have successfully paired and downloaded your address book to a car that doesn't even exist defies explaination.

Weak sauce / bush league all around!

:(
