I have a Cingular 8700c. Everything on my phone seems to be working fine, even text messages. A few days ago, I noticed I was not receiving any texts, and nobody was receiving my texts. It looks like it sent it, but it hasn't. Email is fine, but it is not as convenient as texting since nobody I know has a phone that alerts email. Is there anything I can do before calling Cingular?

mishycupcakes, first look to see if your SENT SMS messages have a "D" beside the checkmark as sent and delivered?

There's not really much you can do when it comes to SMS. Plus it's not unheard of for Cingular to mess up provisioning -- especially when it comes to SMS. We've had a number of our corporate units where SMS wasn't properly provisioned and this has happened to my personal devices as well.

I don't think that's the problem, because I am not receiving any messages as well.

Have you made any changes to your plan recently? Had a similar issue and come to find out the person who changed my plan turned off the ability to send TMs. Took a call to tech support to gt it resolved.

I called Cingular, and they fixed it. I'm not sure what they did, though. TY everyone.

I should add that we've had numerous cases with Cingular where provisioning has changed (dropping SMS or dropping International Dialing, etc) and not by our request.
