Default Need More Vib

I have the BB8703e with Sprint service. I need a more pronounced vibration. Is there a way to make this happen.

Thanks
Randy

It really sucks, but you get used to it after a while.

This and the the poor speakerphone volume are my only big complaints about the 8703e

Honestly, I don't have a problem with either vibration or the speakerphone. Both work well and without complaint. (8700g).

I miss the 7230 vibe nothing wrong with 8700g but with my 7230 i could lay it flat on table and when it vibed I could hear it in every room of apt. but not so with 8700g not a big deal as it it rarely more than 3cm from me

Does the type of case you use effect how much you notice the vibration of the 8703e? I use the plastic OEM holster that came with mine and sometimes I don't notice the vibrations.

Could be, but if you notice on the boards here, some users complain about their less intense vibration and don't use any holster, plastic or leather--just the pocket.

I don't think that the holster (or lack there of) makes much of a difference. The 'vibrating device' (for lack of appropriate term) in the 8703's is just much weaker than they were in the 7250's. After a while, you get used to the subtle vibration on your belt. The only real problem is that it's so weak that sometimes I think it's vibrating whan it really isn't. This wasn't an issue with the 72xx's. AAMOF, my 7250 used to vibrate it's way right off of my desk if I left it near the edge - no such problem w/ the 8703

The anemic vibrator is my main complaint about the 8700. I wrote some feedback on RIM's web site to that effect.

When I had a 7290 the vibrator was strong enough to be useful under most conditions. The 8700's vibrator will get your attention if you're sitting somewhere quietly, but if you're moving at all...forget it. 1-800-USELESS.

I wonder if anyone up at RIM beta tested the 8700 vibrator before release by putting the handheld on a belt under a coat and just walking around their parking lot while someone tried to call them. It doesn't seem like they did.

Default Need more vibration

I just got my new 7130e and love it. However the vibration is so weak, I am getting many missed calls and missed messages. I have tried the plastic belt clip and cloth belt clip, no difference. From reading this thread, it looks like there is nothing I can do. As I am in court and must have a vibration function, do I need to return this phone for another model?

Only if you're willing to go with a 7290 or older for stronger vibration...
