I have a cdma 7130e and tried doing the wipe in the security section, yet I still have application icons (like GMAIL and OPERA) on my home screen.

What did I do wrong?

I;ve done it 2x in the last 30 minutes and can't seem to figure it out.

A wipe only removes user data. It does not remove applications. You can use JL_Cmder (link in my signature) to completely erase everything and reinstall the OS. Or, remove each application individually from your BlackBerry.

I tried uninstalling each one individually, but some did not even have entries -- like Opera (had 2 versions).

I downloaded your excellent application about 1/2 hour ago and am currently re-installing the OS.

I am in the Load JVM and system software step.

This is taking a little longer than I thought it would, but that's OK...

Finished installing the OS, but am missing icons for the browser and they are not hidden.

I am registered (e-mail from alltel) on the wireless network, and have an active dataplan.

The desktop software is on my desktop @ work. I use BES for redirector.

Can I do anything OTA or am I SOL until I connect tomorrow @ work?

If I had to wait until work tomorrow -- what steps would I take, once I get to work, to get the icons back?

I am getting e-mails and sending and receiving SMS messages just fine.

Called Alltel and had them resend my service books. No dice.

Alltel asked me to contact my BES administrator -- apparently the BES adminstrator can restrict the "internets" on individual blackberries...

Alltel indicates that if there is no problem on the BES side, that I might have a defective device and need to return for replacement!

It was working just fine a few days ago...

uninstalled and reinstalled the O/S. Checked browser where it was not checked before.
