Unhappy Verichat 7100v Vodafone UK

Please Login to Remove!

I've tried and tried but have been unable to get verichat to connect correctly on Vodafone UK. Messaging was my main reason for getting the 7100v so any help will be much apprecaited.

I get that 'failed to create tunnel' message.

I've setup the tcp/ip settings as explained in the help files (BlackBerry Internet - MSN/chat/web/telnet/TCPIP - No BES!. intially I tried the APN, user name and password

Vodafone (UK)
Gateway IP: 212.183.137.12
Port: 9201
APN: wap.vodafone.uk
username: [email address]
password: user

but then vodafone support suggested APN 'internet' and user/password 'web'

neither have worked for me.

There is some question as to wether the APN should be .uk or .co.uk neither again has worked for me.

Any advice gratefully received

Andrew

p.s. I also setup the vodafone email forwarding and couldn't believe that no mail server details were needed to set-up just a username/password. It does appear that vodafone has been able to pick-up email (it's in the email in box for viodafone) but I'm not clear that it's been pushed out to the handset - is there a setting I'm missing?

I'll leave this here in case anyone else has a similar problem with Vodafone UK.

I spent all last friday trying to get this working, support calls etc and now three days later having made no additional changes to config both email push and IM are working on the blackberry fine. Maybe it takes a while for the services to kick in after set-up or maybe i was just unlucky.

using APN 'internet' and user/password 'web'

Ohmigod, it works for me too on Vodafone Italy.

Can you think of something more stupid? Vodafone sent me a mail containing my username and password, then I just have to write "internet" and "web".

Sometimes, BBWeather and BBToday connections give a "malformed address, returning null connection" error message. Do anybody know what may cause that?

Bye,
