I just upgraded my 8800 to the O2 release, and the backlight never goes off!

I have it set to 45 seconds, and even automatic.

I have pulled the battery a few times, and the only way to get it to shut off is to put it in the case, or put it into standby.

Any idea's?

Not familiar with 02 release but have a new 8800 (week or so old) and my backlight works fine.

Do you have any 3rd party software running? Is BB maps open?
