i recentally recevied a blackberry 8700g as a gift from a friend of mine, no software, just the phone and the cord
while in the process of "discovering" it's capabilities, i entered the password wrong ten time only to discover that it wiped my memory clean

i have goten the desktop maneger off the internet and the application loader prgram but i dont know where to go to get the os to put back on my blackberry and suggestions?

You can get software from any of the service providers websites just make sure you remove the Vendor.xml file before loading to your BB 8700g is TMO in the states so you could go there with no problem

now how would i remove the xml file? im still new to the bb software and programs

allrite so i went to that page, downloaded BlackBerry.alx Download: for8700 series (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) T-Mobile (United States), and i tried to upload with my aplacation loader buy i recived an error

did you follow Jibi's directions word for word?

I don't understand why in all the replies no one told you that this "wipe" only removes data. It does NOT remove either the firmware or any installed applications.

Also, if you're unfamiliar with the BlackBerry or the workings of a PC, you would be better off downloading the firmware for your BlackBerry from your provider. Links to all provider's (worldwide) BlackBerry download pages can be found here:

On your BlackBerry, go to (Settings/Tools -->) Options --> About. The third line will say something like v4.1.0.377. This number corresponds to the "Applications: 4.1.0.377" version on BlackBerry hosted sites. If the version on your device matches what's available on the site, there's no need to download or install it.

allrite well i guess that thier is more to my problem than i previously thought... while it was wipeing the memory i pulled the battery(panicking)

and now when i turn it on i get a box and the numbers 507

what does this mean?

do you have Tmobile service? go to my.tmobile.com and log in. find upgrade system their you will find the newest OS from Tmo. Save it to ur desk top then go from there
