I don't understand why in all the replies no one told you that this "wipe" only removes data. It does NOT remove either the firmware or any installed applications.
Also, if you're unfamiliar with the BlackBerry or the workings of a PC, you would be better off downloading the firmware for your BlackBerry from your provider. Links to all provider's (worldwide) BlackBerry download pages can be found here:

On your BlackBerry, go to (Settings/Tools -->) Options --> About. The third line will say something like v4.1.0.377. This number corresponds to the "Applications: 4.1.0.377" version on BlackBerry hosted sites. If the version on your device matches what's available on the site, there's no need to download or install it.
