Okay, I admit I'm new to the Blackberry... I've installed several online tools and haven't had any problems... until I installed the GMail application and antecedently choose 'Deny' in stead of 'Allow' to the networking question. Well it flipped just before I hit the button. Anyway, how do I change that setting?

Try this:

Options > Security Options > Firewall > Click trackwheel > Reset Settings.

or try: Options > Security Options > Application permissions Choose gmail, then edit permissions then set as desired.
