cant send SMS on 7105t
i got an unlocked 7105t (tmobile phone) but my service provider is Cingular. everything seems to be working fine (emails, internet, & receiving SMS) but when i try to send an sms i get this error: Short message transfer rejected
any ideas on how to fix this? or could this be because its a tmobile phone and it doesnt like cingular? i dont know... this is my first blackberry and i dont know much about this. i do know i have the correct center service number on the SMS settings and the network set to GSM.
any help at all would be great.
Your unlocked 7105t will work just fine on Cingular. I know because I use Cingular and many different unlocked phones. Some of which I get from the UK, or other countries.
Regarding your question I do not know the answer, however there is a very nice feature on the Cingular web site that makes it easy for you to get an answer.
Go to this link below:
Look in the lower right corner and click on "Tech Support Chat", when you click on this it may ask you to register (very easy) and then take you to the tech chat room where you may ask your question and get an answer right away. I've used it and it's a great free resource.
kik3, you could have purchased a used BB from a corporate environment which had some IT policy locking the SMS text messages.
Look at Options, Security, General Settings (i think) and see if you have anything listed under "services". If so, look back on this board and search for "removing IT policy".
I would definately check the Cingular support area. I have recently unlocked my 7100t and I am using it on the cingular network and it works great. Their support area has been really handy with a few issues that have popped up.
Sounds like you might be missing a service book or something...

I did the Tech Chat but they couldnt help me. Told me I had to talk to a tech support or i dont know what, but i hvnt been able to call.
Ive also looked all over Cingulars website and no luck so far, but ill keep trying.
Whenever i get this fixed ill let you know what the problem was.
Have you by chance tried to re-register on the network?
