Hi, I just picked up a 8703e from Sprint yesterday, after hating the Q for a while. A couple of things I can't figure out:

1. I just installed the Zen theme. How can I, or is there a way to, change the background image? I cant seem to find it anywhere.

2. I am connected to my work BES, and have my Gmail set up. On the Zen theme, there's 2 icons. 1 called messages, and the 2nd one for my Gmail account. It looks like it was separated, but I still get my gmail mail in my main messages account. Is there anyway around this? I'd like to keep my work emails separate from my gmail?

3. I have the 24 CTU ring as an MP3 that I used on my Q. Is there anyway to get this on the 8703?

4. How do I send pictures to the BB when connected to my PC? I have a few background images that I want to use with the Zen theme.

5. Also, is there an easy way to dial contacts from the main screen? On the Q, you can be on the home screen and dial S-C-O if you wanted to call Scott, and then just hit send. Can this be done?

Thanks, and sorry if there is all of this information found through search. I tried searching for a lot of it, but there is so many posts and so much information here, it's tough to narrow everything down.

I'll help on what I can, I just got my 8703e from spcs yesterday too!

1) go into pictures, find an image you like > click wheel and set as home screen
2) no, but you can setup a filter, been asked and answered many times here I found.
3) Bluetooth maybe..especially if you have a pc and can browse the filesystem on the Q

4 and 5 I'll leave to someone else

3. Above is incorrect, you can't move ringtones via bluetooth on the 87xx. You will need to re-download the CTU ring from a website, from your BB browser. Try going to this link---> Theme Music

4. Must email pictures to the BB from your desktop pc.

5. You can set speed dial from the home screen (such as press and hold S, dial Mr. Santa), go to Phone, Options, General Options, Dial from Home Screen = NO so that you can also use shortcuts to applications such as B-Browser, C-Calendar, M-Messages. For those shortcuts, just tap the key.
You can hold the green key down until the phone dialer pops up and enter the first few characters of the name there...

Go read the document at the bottom of this page link... regarding tips for the 8700, you'll find lots of useful info there.

Im going to add a newbie question to this thread, is there a way to make an alias account name for the messaging folders? I'd like to simply have Gmail for a folder instead of my [email address] email addy. Just housekeeping for me.
