Default Newbie..Can't send/receive emails?

Please Login to Remove!

I am having trouble sending and receiving emails on my BB.I have setup an aol account, business account, and my blackberry email account. None of them seem to be working, I also have tried sending the service books and that is not working either. I can make calls and use the web. What did I do wrong?

What do you mean with the host routing table? Should I change the nuber that is in bold?

Did the reset nothing happened.

Could it be from sending the service books?

Go to Options . . . Advanced . . . Host Routing Table . . . Wheel click and Click on Register Now. You will receive message indicating that your device is registered with the network.

I hate to ask the obvious question but . . . you do have a BB data plan w/Verizon correct?

I do have a contract...I just converted from a treo 700P today. It seems like my blackberry email account can receive emails, but the other ones are still slow.

I registered it like you guys said.

Go into the BIS account and resend the service books. Also pull the battery for about 30 seconds. If the email accounts are set up in BIS properly, then it should work. Your mail should arrive about every 15 minutes or so, it isn't instantaneous.

This also presupposes that you have a BB dataplan and it is properly provisions. Did you buy the device new or did you get it from someone else/ebay?

I just resent and received all service books. I just bought this new today and I received email on my treo so I am assuming everthing it setup correctly. I didn't realize it would take so long to receive an email.

Thanks for the help guys.

POP3 mail polls about every 15 minutes are so, not "push" email delivery. However your emails that are w/your carrier, i.e. example@mycingular.blackberry.net address is true push email and you will receives those almost instantly. Same holds true for BES account.

Seems like it works now thanks for the help. I thought it was all instant, thanks for clearing it up for me. Hopefully everything works tomorrow. I am still getting used to clicking the trackwheel and it opening up a new menu, this is why I was confused about the routing table thing.

Great to hear! Once again congrats and welcome to the forums. Plenty of information here for you to become more educated about your device.

Cheers!

Color, frequency, etc? Not really b/c the color indicates what is going on w/the BB. Green=everything is fine, no new alerts. Red=email, SMS, missed call, etc. Blue=bluetooth connected device.

You should however see some type of light indicator about every 5 - 10 seconds. However I believe you can disable that feature if you want with either a 3rd party software or native to the BB OS.

The light has stopped blinking and the email is giving e a little trouble again. I am right out of NYC so it can't be network or signal issues.
