Can the battery from one model, example an 8700, be used in the 7100g or another model?

The battery in the 7130e and the 8703e are the same model #(C-S2) they look a little different (round vs square sides) but they fit in in each other and work...

7100G can take a CS1 or CS2 battery, the 7100i (I think) and 7130 and newer require a CS2 battery.

So the answer is yes an 8700 battery can work in a 7100. But a 7100 CS1 battery will not work in a 7130 or 8700 (or other newer phone)
