Problem when answering incoming calls More and more often when answering calls, I am unable to hear the caller and they are unable to hear me. But, the 8800 says the call is connected. This occurs when answering a call from a BT head set (HS-655 or WEP200). Since I use a BT headset all of time, I haven't had a chance to see if it happens with just the handset. Anyone else haviong this problem? Wonder if I have a defective handset or what. |
20% of calls i have to press speaker and back to headset... the bb655 has no delay but does have issues with connecting sometimes. its been like that from day 1 with 8700 and now my 8800 |
I used to have this problem with my Treo 650 but have had zero issues with my 8800. It's a welcomed upgrade for just that reason for me. Quote:

I am on my 2nd 8800. My problem is the same in that I cannot hear incoming callers and they can't hear me. This is a sporadic problem but lasts for days at a time. I just received a replacement phone a week ago and yesterday the problems started again. I haven't tried the speakerphone trick but I will do that the next time someone calls. I'd hate to get a whole different phone because this one apparently has some flaw. |
uh oh, i smell a frequent 8800 issue comming up. i hope it isn't going to be like with the 7290, about 80% of these units broke down in the first 2 years in our company LOL |
i get the same issue. i reset my phone and sometimes the reset helps sometimes it doesn't. when i'm on a call how do you switch to speakerphone? there is no speakerphone option when i'm connected. oh btw, i'm using hte blackberry stereo headphones. this happens when i disconnect the headset from the earphones and vice versa. is my unit defective? |
for those who use a stereo head unit with the 8830. i think i found why you can't hear the phone call. if you connect thru the head unit, and unplug it, the 8830 thinks you are still connected to the head unit. in reality you are using the reg phone to talk. wierd but not sure how to fix this. |
