Would there be any way to get this? Right now that is the only reason I can think of to upgrade to the 8800. I just don't know if I want to pay $400.00 for that option. I didn't know if downloading a new OS (4.2) could give me that option, or is the 8800 the only way to get it?

NO 4.2.1 does not give this functionality for the 8700. I tried loading the cod files from the 8800 packages, and was able to get the icon on the home screen, but it didn't run.

Can't get it on the 8700c. Closest you can get is Cingular's voice dial service on the 8700c.

I wouldn't pay $400 for voice dial. Speed dials work best...IMHO. I don't like the voice dial.

Same here. Getting into an argument with voice dialing in public can make people think you're nuts.

I drive about 200 miles every day, and would love to be able to make a call w/o taking my seatbelt off, unholstering the bb, unlocking it and then calling. It is quite an ordeal.
