Default 8700c won't register on BIS

Hi -

I asked this in another area of the forum but didn't get a good response.

I'm trying to switch my handheld on Cingular BIS. I currently have a Pearl registered on BIS but I'm trying to switch back to my old 8700c. When I enter the PIN and IMEI I get a message that says "The information you have provided is not valid for this service provider." I have double and triple checked the numbers - I'm sure I'm entering everything correctly.

Anyone have any ideas?

Is the 8700 provisioned with a BB data plan?

Are you using the "Change Handheld" under settings?

Yes, I have a data plan w/ Cingular. My Pearl is currently registered on BIS and works fine. I've switched the two handhelds a few times in the last few weeks as I've tried to get used the the Suretype. I can't, so I really want to just go back to the 8700 and sell the Pearl.

I had the 8700 on the same BIS account just a week ago. But now BIS won't accept the PIN and IMEI.

Any ideas?

If you're sure you're typing in the correct info then you'd need to call your carrier's data support group.
