Hi Folks -

I just got my 8800 today, trading up from a Pearl and a battered 8700. Here's my problem:

When I used the switch device wizard on the desktop software everything seemed to sync fine w/ the 8800. All my contacts, email are there etc. BUT when I go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion the "Shared" file isn't there so I can't update my .alx file and can't easily clean out all the junk on the BB that I don't need.

Where did my Shared file go?

Not sure what you mean - I have the desktop software installed, in fact I've reinstalled twice thinking that would correct the problem. No luck.

When I run apploader, it only loads my third party software. Nothing else is listed in the apploader.

you have to install the actual handheld O/S and apps.

Thanks. I didn't know I had to install the OS separately. I thought it would install from the CD that came w/ the unit. Everything is okey dokey now.
