Default 8700 water damage + dead batt

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8700C that got water damaged.. after cleaning it and now it works all fine but the Bat does not recharge. so i got a new bat it work fine it charged the phone when the phone was on. the phone died and turned off now I cant get it to turn on with the old or new Batteries.
Any one can help

sounds to me like all the liquid was not dry before putting in new battery and charging and that may have caused a short in the bb and maybe fried it.

how long did you let BB dry?

Ditto EZRunner, and to confirm. I had water damage once on my unit and after hours of drying out, I replaced the battery and it worked for several hours. However, by the next morning it was dead and completely unusable. I should have waited days!

thats typically long enough but there is no exact amout of time. was it in a fairly warm area?

yes I was about 25C.
