I have my 8800 syncing up with my Outlook data, including contacts. I also am using different categories for my contacts, ie. 'work', 'family', 'softball', etc. Last week I went into my address book on my 8800 and selected 'Filter' and then 'softball' so that it would only show my softball teammates. I removed the filter so that it would show all contacts again, but now if I start typing a name from my home screen to dial, it will only bring up matches in the 'softball' category. It works fine from the address book. Anyone else have this problem? I've tried selecting and unselecting filters and rebooting, but its still doing it.

Don't know if you every figured out a resolution for this, but I have the exact same issue on my 8830. My phone dialer now only shows me contacts matching a category I set a filter for in the address book when I first got the phone. Subsequent changes to the address book filter have no effect on the dialer. It appears to now be permanently filtered by the very first category I filtered the address book on.
