I have a mac/8700G and they hate eachother so is it possible to get the new OS OTA or on a mac?

Sorry but it requires a Windows Computer with Desktop Manager.

Last time the people at my local T-Mobile did it for me cause I don't have a PC - but this isn't technically out yet right just on some random site so I'd have to find a friend with a PC?

It is not on some random site, it is on the RIM website for another carrier. It is unlikely that TMO will do the upgrade for you, so yes, a friend with a PC would be the best option.

I'd recommend downloading Parallels for your mac and install XP so you can run your desktop manager via xp on your mac. I think this may only work for newer intel macs, but it's worth a try.

I have a brand new intel mac but hate windows sorry...plus how much would all that cost me?
