1. did you then interrupt during the software d/l to the bb?

if so, you need to get a stable pc with dtm AND newest hh software loaded on it. try and get the bb recognized by the dtm. if it IS recognized, you may be able to do an 'advanced' backup and try and save JUST your address book. dont do a full backup! when (and if) you load software, make sure you uncheck all of the 'backup' suggestions, and check the 'erase previous applications' radio button.

if the dtm allows you to do this your bb will end up just like when you bought it.

2. is the pc or the dtm program itself messing up? if pc, there is nothing i can suggest for you. try reinstall of operating system or calling your makers tech support. is the dtm(desktop manager) messed up? if so you need to remove every piece of the dtm from your compute and d/l it and try again. i would suggest you call bb tech support and tell them you need to talk to tier 2. ask them to walk you thru a 'clean uninstall.'

generally dtm ver 4.1 and down is good for IDEN.....dtm 4.2 or higher for CDMA.
hh is 'handheld software'

on the site
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E3F94D95B11DAF

it gives you an option for downloading the dtm AND the hh software....just click on the 7100g software (only one choice) and download and install both dtm and hh software.

dbl check your connection....try again.....if still not recognized, try another port for your bb.

if you havent already, go to the 'options', and 'connection settings' at the top of the dtm and try that.

w/o the bb being recognized by the dtm, only thing left to do is service and repair.

better luck next time
