| Does this seem normal? Please Login to Remove! I just got a new Sprint 8703e after trialing one for a few days. I noticed as it's sitting stationary on my desk in an area that has 5 bars for single strength that the single bars will drop to nothing (sometimes jump around a little) and the service indicator will go from 1XEV to EV then back again (1XEV and 5 bars). This happens about 5-10% of the time...the other 90-95%...5 bars.
The unit I trialed (also new unit) with did not do this in the same location, at work on my desk). It consistently read 4-5 bars and no service change indication.
Could this have anything to do with today's outage or could it be a hardware issue?
I have done the following resulting in no effect:
- Reset the unit by removing the battery.
- Registered with the network.
- Re-provisioned.
Also, Sprint reports no tower issues in my location.
If service was weak to begin with, I could understand I'm in a gray service area, but for service to be so strong and to jump around so much...
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
