Just upgraded my 8700c Cingular to 4.2 but now enterprise activation isnt working. I have the network password so not sure what's going on. Any ideas?

You mention the network password. EA uses a special password generated on the BES. Also, the EA passwords expire after a short period of time.

I too cannot get enterprise activation to work either. I generated a password on BES that is good for 48 hours, but when I try to do the activation, it does not work. However, I have e-mail via the BES still working for some odd reason. Will be doing some trouble shooting tonight. If I figure anything out, I will be sure to post it.

RIM has been having major network issues since yesterday - they've even taken the unusual step of issuing press releases about it. It's entirely possible that this is impacting your activation. Patience....

Same problem here; Cingular; 4.2.1.126 (4.2.1.85), 8700

But, here's the twist:

Rolled back to 4.1.

Same problem.

My Bberry admin thinks it may be related to the "train wreck" that hit RIM today.

Anyone else having activation issues, 4.2 or otherwise?

A reboot of the server hosting my BES and the enterprise activation on the handheld started automatically after the server restarted. I cannot explain why the server needed to be rebooted as I only upgraded my handheld's OS. However, all is back to normal now.

Without a reboot, EA finally completed. 6 hours later.

Hi, I got my 8700 from my company and successfully did the enterprise activation with the pre-installed 4.1 software. Now after upgrade to V4.2, it requires for enterprise activation again, but when I use the old password given to me, I can not activate now, it tells me to contact my admin. So how many times is the password valid? and how long?

EA passwords are one-time use only. Of course the BES admin can reset the password to the same one used previously.
