Cool Upgrading to 8800r!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone! I just bought an 8800r from Rogers over their CC on the phone! It was really good because I am a "priority customer" and I got 100$ off (but had to renew my contract) and free shipping, which was cool!

I guess my name is outdated now!

Anything I should know about switching from the 8700g to the 8800r?

First play with Scrollwheel adjustabilty to your liking
Options> Screen & Keyboard.

Test with the BB browser on a forum like this. then fine tune to your preference.

Next get a protector.

Update your address book for delivery directions and play with the maps :D

you (rogers) will probably need to delete your existing BIS account and log on and set up a new 2.0 BIS

i had about 30 Welcome emails from rogers when i switched and had to do this to make it stop

also load desk top program off the disk and uses the switch handheld function or just back up the old device and then DL the saved back up to new 8800

enjoy

The 'r' just indicates that it's a Roger's branded device...

I've been using the TeleNav quite a bit since I activated it about a week ago and the data usage hasn't been too bad - I've used under 1MB. Depending on what else you're going to be doing (ie internet browsing, etc) I would think 50MB should be ok. What can quickly put you up over the top is using Google maps with Satellite view turned on - I used about .5MB the other day just by viewing 3 sites with Satellite view...
