Am brand new to Blackberries and just got one with my new job 8700v . Have three queries and would be really grateful if someone could help:

1. For buisiness reasons outgoing calls have been disabled but have found out from one of my colleagues that can receive calls. How do I find out the phone number?

2. It looks like the games have been disabled. Is there an easy way to unlock them?

3. Bluetooth does not seem to be working although I activate it and change discoverable to "yes" my cell phone will not detect it. Am I doing something wrong?

You're most likely connected to a BES, and the BES admin has disabled those functions. Good luck getting around them!

Ditto what jgd stated, all very likely disabled through IT policy security settings. Your company IT/BES administrators can tell what mods or apps, i.e. games, you may load.

Guys, thanks. My main issue is finding the cell number. It must be somewhere on the device?

If they've done enough to lockdown what you can install and restricting outbound calls, it's likely that they've also disabled the option to display the phone number...

If it's not hidden, you should be able to see it by going to the Phone App, and there is a banner up top that says: My Number: xxx xxx xxxx

If it's not there, you can try going into the options:

From phone app...
Click trackwheel, select Options, then General Options. Try changing the option: Show "My Number" to Yes

If this doesn't work, you're probably out of luck.

If you use a GSM network (Disclaimer: I've never had a GSM/SIM card based phone) it might be possible to pop the SIM card into another phone to find the number...
