all rite well ive been searching around the site for the better part of an hour and came to this conclusion

thier is no way to download and play mp3's from an app like i-tunes to ur bb
because of one, no memory expsanion avavable for 8700g, and two u must have a data plan to upload anytype of mp3 or ringtone

is this all correct?
and also i looked under the bat pack where the sim card goes and to the right of it is another slot...what is that for?

I would believe that slot is for a MicroSD card. I currently have an 8703e from Sprint and would like to know how to add MP3 ring tones to my device as well.

That thing to the right of the SIM card is just directions on how to put the SIM card in.

MP3 ring tones can be downloaded OTA from any filehost, but should only be 20secs max as the BB has a file limit and no expandable memory.

Wirelessly posted (Thumpers 8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

That would be a no. A little research on different blackberry models will show that there are models that can use expansion cards, and models that can't. The 8700g is one that can't.

This post sounds an awful lot like the old "Treo set up" posts we used to see on BBF. If not, that's fine, but a small amount of research (blackberry.com) will tell you which phones have the features you're looking for. The Bb new models have rounded out their product line. WiFi, MP3,memory slots, suretype, qwerty -- just select your features and that will tell you which phone you should have. Enjoy!
