Default Stop incoming email when connected to computer?

Please Login to Remove!

I am sure this has been discussed, but I could not find it in a search.

Is there a way to stop emails from coming in, when your BB is connected to the computer. I just dont like having to pick up my phone and mark emails opened when I'm at my desk at work and have access to my email account. I've heard this is possible on Windows Mobile, but wasn't sure about BB. Thanks.

Only if you're on BES. There's an option to disable mail forwarding when connected via USB. Otherwise in BIS you'd need to set your default filter to not forward mail.

Though I read somewhere recently that someone was able to configure the BB firewall to block BIS to temporarily disable mail delivery.

Desktop Manager --> Email Settings --> General

There is an option on that screen to enable/disable that.

Keep in mind, however, that once you re-enable your email, all messages from the time you disabled email, will arrive. The only way to change it is to edit each email accoutn in Outlook to delete messages once downloaded to your PC and then you would have to change it to "Leave messages on Server" when you re-enable the BB.

Not sure if it is worth the effort.

What the "F" are you talking about?

Am I missing something? Is this only for 4.2 software? All I have is connection settings and data folder settings...

If you can't get it to stop delivering emails while you are connected, you can scroll up to the date, and click Mark Prior Opened, and at least you won't have to plow through all of them.
