Default Adding Bluetooth "Services" to 8800

Please Login to Remove!

O.K. So, I want to be able to sync with my home computer via Desktop Manager via Bluetooth. I'm on BES, so I have to toggle off/on the wireless sync on all of the calendar, tasks, address book, which is a PITA, but worth it to me to have my home computer, my work computer and my BB all sync'd together.

The problem is that I can't get it to sync via bluetooth. From reading the BlackBerry setup instructions on KB04132, I *think* the problem is that for some reason, the "services" listed on my 8800 do not include Desktop Connectivity or Wireless Bypass (which are evidently required services to do this).

So, how do I add those services (or get someone else to add them)?

Thanks in advance.

O.K., but is this a Cingular limitation (about which I can do nothing) or an IT Policy limitation (about which I can at least ask the IT Dept. to fix)?

Thanks for your help.

BES relates to your IT department w/your company. I would start with them.

Any luck on getting this working? Which route was required? Cingular or IT?

IT Department said that everything possible was enabled and sent me the screenshots of my IT Policy setup to prove it, which left me to have to deal with Cingular Tech Support. After 3 calls, I gave up....

You also need to make sure that you're using the MS BT drivers and not the OEM drivers. You may have already taken care of this but it wasn't mentioned and it's the most common issue with BT sync that people run into.

Yeah, that's not the issue. The issue is the availabilty of the service at all. The only available services listed are Headset, Handsfree, and DUN....
