I don't know if there is another thread with this information but I could not find it.
I am using the BlackBerry 8700g device and love it. I have an IMAP e-mail account that I have been able to configure and get working with the BlackBerry. However, it seems as though the e-mail does not come in in real time. I will send myself an e-mail and it will come immediately to my inbox (I check it with Microsoft Outlook), but the BlackBerry can take sometimes 5 to even 10 minutes to get the message.
If I configure my IMAP account to forward the message to my BlackBerry e-mail address (the one I set up with a tmo.blackberry.net ending) then the e-mail comes immediately. However, I want the IMAP account to do the same because I like the e-mail reconcile feature where I can delete the e-mail on my BlackBerry device and it will remove it from my IMAP server. Can anyone help out?
IMAP and POP3 accounts are polled by your BIS account. It is not truly real time email delivery like a BES account or your tmo.blackberry.net account. BES and BIS is true push email. The polling usually occurs about every 10 - 15 minutes.
