I have T-Mobile and I know the 8800 is coming out Monday. But if I use an unlocked one (off of Craig's list or something) will it work just as good (myFaves, t-zones, etc) as an official T-Mobile one? In other words, is it worth the extra cash?

I have an unlocked Cingular 8800 running on T-Mobile. Only difference is the spalsh screen at startup and when you fire up T-Zones (the icon says T-Zones). I don't use My Faves, but the pieces are all loaded for it).

If you can get an unlocked GSM BB there's no difference other than the logos (well, maybe some apps/themes as well from OS load to OS load but you can load any carrier's OS as long as it's the same device). Configuration is handled by service books -- not the OS load on the device.

an unbranded one just looks soooo much nicer, but always command a premium.

I've not seen an unbranded one for sale on the 'bay yet.
