Default Battery Questions 8703e

Please Login to Remove!

So all of a sudden (literally almost overnight), my battery isn't really liking life. I used to get a solid 3-4 days off a charge, now I'm lucky if I get 1 day. Nothing changed as far as software and the amount of use the device gets.

When I went to bed last night at midnight, there were 3/5 bars of battery. It shut itself off somewhere between 3-3:30am when the battery died.

The 8703e is less than a year old. This can't be normal?

I guess I have to buy a new battery. Any suggestions where? Are there extended batteries that don't bulge out of the back?

yes battery life should diminish within a year, depending on usage. With a new battery, the life is amazing on this device. I just went 3 days without a charge, which I never did before with ANY cdma cell/pda phone.

Try this to get batteries...

I have the extended battery, and it is the best purchase I've ever made. It lasts forever it seems. I'm not sure how long it lasts, but it's gotta be a good two or three days with a full charge. Now be in mind that I respond to a couple hundred emails, send some texts, always have the bluetooth on, and use the vibrate feature religiously. I also use this phone for voice too, and use between 3500 and 4,000 minutes a month on this phone. If you want to always make sure that you have battery life remaining on your phone, get the extended battery. It's definitely worth it.

Default battery life

I have a 8703e and suddenly the battery life has shortened dramatically the unit is only 3 months old and usage patterns have not changed, surely the battery does not need to be changed this soon?
I do not use BT and it is turned off, not sure what to check?

Did you happen to read this post above?

On your 8703, hold the ALT key and press the escape key, you can scroll the through any applications running in the background. You should see the homescreen, the mail app, the browser and the phone app, according to what applications you have loaded on the phone. Close any unnecessary additional applications.

Likewise you can try to "recondition" your battery somewhat, although you may notice very little difference. For several times/days in a row (3-4) run your battery down to 15-20% of charge and recharge completely full to 100%. You might notice a difference.
