Exclamation T-Mobile to FIDO, Has it been done yet?

Please Login to Remove!

I would like to know if anyone can speak from experience on this issue? There is never a guarantee . . . Whats a girl to do????

I have a BB 8700g which I purchased and used while in living in Vegas. However, I am now back in Toronto and would like to use my BB with my ol' faithful provider, FIDO.

Although FIDO does not sell BB's, they now offer BB connectivity due to a new phone they offer, the Nokia E62.

I know I can unlock my BB to use with FIDO but will I still be able to access the internet and maintain all features with my BB??? (Previous experience with unlocking my Razor from Rogers to FIDO didn't allow me to make an internet connections with it).

Please help me . . . . I love my BB . . . .

I *think* the BB connect they offer is for non BB's so my guess is that it will not work...

BlackBerry Connect is for *other* devices that want to use a BB style of email...

I would assume that as long as Fido is a GSM provider, an unlocked T-Mobile (GSM) BB would work, especially if an unlocked Rogers BB works. I would call to make sure you can get a BB dataplan however. No BB dataplan, no email and no Internet. The BB Connect won't work on a BB as far as I know.

A GSM BB is a GSM BB. You just need the service books from the new carrier. It's not the same as it is with other GSM devices which require reconfiguration when you move from one carrier to another. On BB's the service books handle all of this for you (except the TCP settings for 3rd party apps that need it).

I use an 8700g with the Rogers BB Connect service. No problems.
