Default Sync 2 BBs on one PC?

Please Login to Remove!

So I have an 8703 for work, and I am going to get a 7100 for my personal use. I am not going to be doing email on it, just calls and texting so I dont need my BIS or redirector stuff set up on it. Can I simply sync the new unit to my PC to download contacts, without it changing any important settings on either device?

You should be able to do this with no problems. Whenever you hook up the other BB, it will detect a different PIN and have to generate a new encryption key (I believe).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's all that will happen..

are the both running BES? Becuase when you sync the non-BES model to a BES computer, any restrictions and defaults will be added to the non-BES model

If neither one is on BES it's pretty easy. It just gets tricky when one (or both) are on BES. If one of them is, I'd suggest exporting what you need from Outlook, importing the info on another PC, and then syncing from the second PC. It's easy to end up accidentally pushing BES service books and an IT policy to your personal BB otherwise...
