Question Did the shortcut keys change ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello -

I am a former 7510 user who has had a brief affair with a Treo (it was not very satisfying). I plan to order a new blackberry from sprint in the next few days (8703e).

I was playing around with it in the store, however, and noticed that some of the shortcut keys were not working. For example: ALT-ESC did not bring up the application switching like before (similar to Alt-Tab on windows); and ALT-SELECT on the home screen didn't give me the option to hide or show applications.

Now: the store model was acting strange (we couldn't find the internet browser, for one) but I wonder: have the shortcut keys changed since I last used my 7510 ? Are people satisfied with the key layout and shortcut key options of this model ?

Thanks,
Damon

No, that shortcut (ALT-ESCAPE) remains to show the active applications, as well as ALT-CLICK or ALT-SELECT to show the hide or show apps menu. That must be a problem with that in-store demo unit.

That is what I had hoped; I couldn't understand why Blackberry would have removed one of the most useful features (Alt-ESCAPE) ... I'm glad they haven't. Excellent.

Well, I look forward to getting the new model. Groovy.
