MMS Does not work on my Blackberry 7100T HELP!!!

I am having serious issues getting my unlocked blackberry 7100T to work with cingular mms system. It appears to be an old tmobile that was unlocked.
OS: v4.1.0.309

The settings for TCP where blank and i had read some forums and changed the setting to the following:

APN: wap.cingular
APN USERNAME: [email address]
APN PASSWORD: CINGULAR1

saved settings and rebooted unit. still unable to get a browser or anything to show tried sending multimedia pic from friends cell and did not receive.

Does anyone know of any other settings that may need to be configured, im nto sure if this is relevant but it says data connection refused. I do not have bb service but a multimedia package that should still allow me access to download and receive these types of messages, and i can do neither, HELP!! thanks.

Let me be the first to tell you: Without a BB Data Plan, you can't do what you are trying to do. If you are able to make it work... I will be the first to say I was wrong.

should i not be able to send and receive multimedia messages (like pictures)?? that is not even part of the blackberry service as far as i know. I have a multimedia plan i am aware that i would not be able to use the enterprise functionality but i should be able to receive ringtones i purchase from cingular and im not able to do that. Please advise if i am just totally lost i thought the plans where completely different.

Its data you're looking for, not text. Without the BB Data Plan, you get Phone and SMS.

Some people have been able to configure the APN as you stated and get Opera Mini to work, on I think Verizon only, with only a "media plan' or something like that. But I don't recall reading where someone on Cingular has done so. Perhaps there has been.

Sorry, you might have gotten the wrong "phone" if you were expecting it do that. This is different device and has different requirements.

thanks for your help, i have read a couple posts on other forums where ppl configured the mms without bb data plan. maybe they where for different model phones i appreciate the input i guess i better look into a bb data plan if i cant get it to work.

yea I remember that thread. A member said they called a Cingular rep and asked to have some privs added to their cingular account.

I have the unlimited data plan since I use my work BES. I have added the above settings and no go. I have also taken my sim card and put it back in my flipphone and I get mms just fine. just in my 8700c with 4.1..... i now have 4.2

edit:Still no go with 4.2, but at least I can transfer pics and mp3's easier with the desktop software

found another wap to try
APN:ISP.CINGULAR
U:ISPDA@CINGULARGPRS.COM
P:CINGULAR1

I will try changing the APN settings on my phone, I have the 4.2 desktop software as well and still have trouble getting files and such on my blackberry. However it did let me install a gps app on my handheld which of course did not work cause i have no connection to the internet. Do you know of any other settings that I may need to change that are hindering my process or will i need to activate the pda services cingular offers like stated above, thanks for the input.

I reconfigured the TCP setting for isp.cingular. However i do not see any changes is it possible if i downloand ReqWirless WebViewer I may be able to gain access?

I really doubt it, because ReqWireless Webviewer requires an internet connection, which you don't. But you can try and see... it's your time to spend.
I think your question has been answered in the first couple of posts... and I gave pretty clear advice about what app some people have been able to use, Opera Mini.

i am in the process of using opera mini right now but it requires wap configuration so i am resetting the tcp settings so lets see how it goes
