Default Noob query following upgrade from Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
Hope someone can help I've just upgraded from a pearl to a 8800 but I after restoring from desktop manager I know have some icons appearing that i do not want on the application list, my question is how do I get rid of them ?

Also when i fire up the browser I get an error saying I don't have the browser configuration service book, is this because I restored from the pearl backup ?
if so how can i get back to default. Which i hope has the correct configuration?

I've also just reset the BB and now the damn pearl isn't working. ARGH HELP

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Have you registered the new BB at your carrier BIS site and changed the PIN and IMEI# there?
Also, while your at that site, look for the Resend Service Books.
And always do a reboot on the BB by pulling the battery.

First, go to your provider's BlackBerry Internet Service site and resend your service books. Links to provider's BIS sites are available at the bottom of this page.

Second, if you're on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, if you have a network connection to both your email server and your BES server, Desktop Manager should pull any needed service books, if you're missing some element of BES, get your BES Admin to resend your BES Service Books.

Third, to uninstall unwanted applications go to (Settings/Tools -->) Options --> Advanced Options --> Applications. Highlight the app you don't want, Click the wheel/menu button and select Delete.

Now if you still have unwanted icons, hide them as indicated above.
