Default Restoring question

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone,

In order to keep all of my notes/contacts/programs etc (I am upgrading to an 8800 from an 8700) I used BackUp on the Desktop Manager.

My question is, can I use restore to back up the data from the 8700 to the 8800, and will all of my notes/contacts/ programs etc then be on my 8800? Is there any risk to doing this?

Ryan, that is a good method. For safety sake, do a sync to MS Outlook or the ASCII Import/Export (thereby a second backup of your contacts, calendar, memos and tasks).

If you have BOTH units still, the most complete method would be to use the Switch Device Wizard found in Desktop Manager, ver 2, Service pack 1

Yep. The restore won't get some third-party applications, etc., but you can always re-download those again. Better to ask this question before you have shipped the 8700...
