I just (finally) went out and bought a 7100g (thanks to all advice) and was told that for the $45 unlimted BB plan, I have to pay an extra $10 to access the internet from my BB? Is this true if I have BES?

You don't have to pay extra if all you do is use the web and send e-mail, but if you want to use 3rd party apps like IM you have to buy a Data Connect plan.

Isn't that part of the $45? I am TMO, so i can't help, but if you don't get another ansewr here, try calling Cingular again. Different rep usually means different answer.

If you find out that you don't have to buy Data Connect let me know. ;)

What was the $10 for, did they tell you specifically?

I'm paying $5 for 500kb data, but that's only for using the wap.cingular apn. I can browse all I want as part of the $45.

Do not call 611 to get this fixed with cingular. The people who know something live at the data line 866-490-2666. They can explain your options.

Cingular is making a hosted BES/MDS service look mighty good.

Others get an option on 611 for BB tech support, but I never have.
